We serve homebound elderly or disabled individuals living in Edmond who do not have an able-bodied caregiver to prepare their meals during the day. Homebound is defined as someone who is normally unable to leave home without significant assistance from others and cannot prepare at least one nourishing meal for themselves during a typical day.

You will need to complete an application for service. You can find the application on the homepage of our website. Just click the button that says "apply for meals". If you are unable to complete an online application, please call the office to complete the application over the telephone by calling (405) 341-3111.

We will never ask clients to give us their income, therefore, it is up to each individual to let us know how much they can contribute per meal. We have clients who contribute $0.50-$7.00 per meal. Our cost to prepare the meals is $7 each. Anything you can do to help us cover the cost of the meal is helpful. If you cannot contribute, we do not want that to be the reason you don’t get the meal, so give us a call!

In this situation, we would love to bring a meal to both of you. We know that being a caretaker is a lot of work and want to ease your load.

We offer meal service for homebound or disabled individuals, and possibly a spouse or partner who is also home as a primary caregiver each day. We cannot provide meals for children, grandchildren or others residing in the home if they do not meet the specific qualifications for our program.

Individuals whose barrier to obtaining food is a lack of driver's license or automobile do not qualify for Edmond Mobile Meals services. Our program is designed for homebound seniors and adults with disabilities who are unable to safely shop for, prepare, or access nutritious meals due to physical, medical, or functional limitations.

We serve a nutritionally balanced, general wellness meal each day. For some, this meal is the only thing they will eat each day, and we understand the importance we play in their lives. If you would like to see the specific items, please view the menu. We endeavor to keep the menu up to date.

We do not have the ability to serve customized meals for strict dietary requirements, such as food allergies, intolerances or preferences. We publish a menu each month with meal information, but it is the responsibility of the recipient to monitor and manage their dietary needs. Our meals may contain common allergens such as nuts, soy, dairy, gluten, and others. Our program may not be right for everyone.

Our meals are considered general-wellness and heart-friendly. All meals are reduced sodium. In 2025, we introduced a diabetic-friendly meal option that is designed in collaboration with a registered dietician to meet the nutritional requirements of those with insulin-related conditions.

We serve only the Edmond community. The boundaries that we currently serve are May Avenue to Midwest Blvd, and Memorial Road to Waterloo Road.

Please call Mobile Meals at (405) 341-3111 BEFORE 9:15 a.m. to cancel the meal for the day if you have to be gone during the delivery window. If possible, call the day before you will be gone. You can leave a message on our answering machine if we are not able to answer the phone. We cannot leave a meal if you are not home or deliver to an alternate location.

If Edmond Mobile Meals closes due to hazardous weather, we will be included on the local TV stations' list of closings. A decision will be made no later than 7am.

At least once a year, Mobile Meals sends out "Blizzard Bags" that contain enough non-perishable food to tide you over for a couple days in case the weather prevents us from safely making deliveries. We encourage you to always keep some basic food on hand in case of emergencies.

We are funded by client contributions, private donations, community partnerships, grants and fundraisers throughout the year. We do not receive state or federal government funding. Our 501(c)(3) program relies on the generosity of the community. You can make a one-time or ongoing donation online.

We always have ways in which you can volunteer at Edmond Mobile Meals, whether it's driving a route, working in the kitchen or helping in the office, there are many ways in which you can be involved! Visit our volunteer information page for more information.

Meals can be either short-term (less than 3 months) or long-term, if the recipient continues to meet the program qualifications.

We do not provide pet food but instead work with The Pet Food Pantry of Oklahoma City who provides pet food and pet services to low-income senior citizens and the homeless.

We primarily provide nutritional and social connection support for homebound and disabled residents in Edmond. Edmond Mobile Meals may offer additional support for eligible clients, including supplemental groceries and a friendly visitor program. We partner with other organizations in the community to provide resources for needs that we cannot provide. For a list of those resources, please ask a staff member.

Volunteers should be at least 18 years of age to cook and deliver meals by themselves. We welcome children under the age of 18 to deliver with a family member or friend who is at least 18 years of age.

We do not have opportunities for individuals needing court ordered community service.

Edmond Mobile Meals has many volunteer opportunities for groups depending upon the size of the group. Groups can deliver meals together, assist with meal preparation and packaging, assembling Blizzard Bags or holiday gifts, and more. We are happy to customize a volunteer opportunity for your group. Due to health department regulations and the quantity of meals we serve each day, we do not accept food donations. We do accept other types of in-kind donations, such as printer paper, office supplies, items for client birthday gifts, paper towels, hair nets, gloves and other disposable kitchen items. Edmond Mobile Meals strictly adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights. Gifts of any size are recorded in accordance with all general nonprofit accounting and tax requirements and privately acknowledged in writing for the records of the donor and the organization. Public recognition is not required and is always left to the discretion and wishes of the donor.

We are an IRS approved 501c3 nonprofit organization, so donations made to Edmond Mobile Meals may be tax deductible. Our Federal Tax ID number is: 73-1250443. Because individual tax situations and laws may vary or change, we cannot offer tax-related advice or recommendations. We recommend each donor consult a professional financial or tax advisor prior to any charitable donations.

If you meet specific requirements, we can accept donations as a Qualified Charitable Donation from IRA or other retirement accounts. Please consult with your financial or tax advisor to make sure you meet the criteria.
