Supplemental groceries

Extra Support for Everyday Nutrition

Supplemental grocery support helps ensure Edmond Mobile Meals clients have access to essential food items between meals, providing added nourishment and greater peace of mind. When we determine that an enrolled client does not regularly have essential groceries in the home and is physically unable to visit a local food pantry, Edmond Mobile Meals may provide monthly food support in partnership with the HOPE Center of Edmond. For more information, please email info@edmondmobilemeals.org.
Our Supplemental Groceries program helps provide additional food support to enrolled clients who may need assistance keeping nutritious essentials in their homes. By supplementing regular meal services with groceries, we help clients maintain access to food between meals and reduce the worry of an empty pantry. This program is limited to qualified, enrolled Edmond Mobile Meals clients only.

social Connection

Creating Connections That Matter

For many homebound seniors, a friendly conversation or familiar face can mean as much as the meal itself. Our Social Connection programs are designed to create meaningful moments of companionship and help seniors feel less alone.
Good nutrition is only part of living well. Our Friendly Visitor Program helps seniors stay engaged, feel supported, and maintain meaningful relationships within their community through friendly conversations, regular visits, and shared activities.
Through this program, clients are paired with a compassionate volunteer who provides weekly social visits outside of regular meal delivery times. Whenever possible, we match volunteers and clients based on shared interests, hobbies, or life experiences to foster meaningful relationships. For clients who prefer not to receive in-person visits, volunteers can provide companionship through regular phone calls.
The goal of the Friendly Visitor Program is simple but powerful: to ensure that every homebound senior knows they have someone who cares, someone who listens, and someone they can call a friend.

View More FAQ

What if the weather is bad and Mobile Meals is unable to deliver?

-
At least once a year, Mobile Meals sends out “Blizzard Bags” that contain enough non-perishable food to tide you over for a couple days in case we can’t deliver meals.  We encourage you to always keep some basic food on hand in case of emergencies.

What if I have to be gone when the meal is going to be delivered?

-
Call Mobile Meals at (405) 341-3111 BEFORE 9:15 a.m. if you have to be gone.  If possible, call at least the day before you will be gone.  You can leave a message on our answering machine if we are not able to answer the phone.

What does it cost to have the Mobile Meals?

-
We will never ask clients to give us their income, therefore, it is up to each individual to let us know how much they can contribute per meal. We have clients who contribute $0.50-$5.00 per meal. We are not a government funded program, therefore, anything you can do to help us cover the cost of the meal is helpful. If you cannot contribute we do not want that to be the reason you don’t get the meal, so give us a call!

What if I am the primary caretaker of my spouse who is homebound, but I am not homebound?

-
In this situation, we would love to bring a meal to both of you. We know that being a caretaker is a lot of work and want to ease your load.

What kind of food do you serve?

-
We strive to serve a nutritionally balanced meal each and every day. For some, this meal is the only thing they will eat each day and we understand the importance we play in their lives. If you would like to see the specific items, please view the menu. We will always keep the menu up to date.
