Edmond, Oklahoma — May 6, 2025 — Following its 50th anniversary, Edmond Mobile Meals is looking toward the future while continuing the mission that began in Edmond in 1974.

The organization was created after local residents discovered that many homebound neighbors were unable to prepare nutritious meals for themselves. What started as a telephone ministry eventually became a meal delivery program supported by local churches and volunteers.

Today, Edmond Mobile Meals serves more than 300 meals each weekday and relies on a volunteer force of more than 400 community members.

The organization has continued to adapt as the needs of Edmond's senior population have changed. Recent growth includes the addition of the Edmond Senior Center's congregate lunch program and the expansion of meal preparation capacity.

Despite this growth, the organization's focus remains centered on the individual client.

Every meal delivered represents an opportunity to provide nourishment, compassion and a connection to the community.

Edmond Mobile Meals is committed to carrying that mission forward for the next generation of Edmond residents.
