Edmond, Oklahoma — August 8, 2024 — Edmond Mobile Meals is recognizing the churches, civic organizations, volunteers and community members who have supported its mission throughout five decades of service.

The organization's roots can be traced to seven local churches that contributed $25 each to help launch Edmond Mobile Meals in 1974. Those churches also provided volunteers who helped deliver the organization's first meals.

Since then, community support has remained central to the organization's ability to serve Edmond residents.

Volunteers deliver meals, provide wellness checks and offer personal interaction to clients. Financial supporters help provide the resources necessary to keep daily operations running.

The combined efforts of these community partners have helped Edmond Mobile Meals grow from a small neighborhood effort into an organization serving more than 300 meals each weekday.

As Edmond Mobile Meals looks ahead, it continues to welcome individuals and organizations interested in joining the community effort to support local seniors.
