Edmond, Oklahoma — November 18, 2020 — Edmond Mobile Meals celebrated a major milestone this month as the organization delivered its one millionth meal to a homebound resident in Edmond.

Since its founding in 1974, Edmond Mobile Meals has worked to ensure that elderly and disabled members of the community have access to nourishing meals and regular personal contact. What began with just six meals delivered on April 22, 1974, has grown into a community-supported organization serving hundreds of meals each weekday.

The organization's success is made possible through the dedication of volunteers, financial contributors, churches, civic organizations and community partners. Volunteers provide much more than meal delivery. For many clients, the daily visit from a Mobile Meals volunteer is their primary connection to the outside world.

Today, Edmond Mobile Meals continues to build on the vision of its founders by providing nutritious meals while helping homebound individuals remain independent in their own homes.

The one millionth meal represents not only a significant organizational milestone, but also decades of compassion, service and community partnership.
