At Edmond Mobile Meals, our mission goes beyond delivering nutritious meals — we’re here to nourish both body and spirit while helping our neighbors live independently at home. Each year, we conduct a survey to better understand how our services impact the lives of the clients we serve. This year’s results are both heartwarming and insightful, giving us a clear picture of what’s working well and where we can continue to support our community.
One of the most anticipated questions in our annual survey is, “What’s your favorite meal?” This year, meatloaf proudly claimed the #1 spot, closely followed by classic BBQ dishes. Interestingly, some meals — like fish, stuffed peppers, and pasta — appeared on both the favorite and least-favorite lists! It’s a good reminder that when it comes to food, everyone’s tastes are unique.
We’re proud to share that:
These results underscore the life-changing impact of our program. For many, having access to dependable, nutritious meals means maintaining independence and dignity.
When asked about portion sizes, 81% of our clients said the meals we provide are “just enough.” We’re committed to ensuring that our servings are balanced — hearty enough to satisfy, but also designed with seniors’ nutritional needs in mind.
While we’re thrilled that our meals meet clients’ nutritional needs, our survey revealed an important challenge: 35% of clients reported that they sometimes experience loneliness and isolation.
This finding highlights the value of our Friendly Visitor program, which connects volunteers with clients for regular check-ins, companionship, and meaningful conversation. Sometimes, a friendly face at the door can make just as much difference as the meal itself.
The results of this survey affirm that Edmond Mobile Meals is making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. Still, they also remind us of the importance of addressing the emotional and social needs of our clients alongside their nutritional needs.
To our volunteers, donors, and community supporters — thank you. Your generosity ensures that our clients not only receive healthy meals but also the care, connection, and dignity they deserve. Together, we’re feeding more than bodies; we’re nourishing lives.
