Don and his wife of 64 years, Gayle, moved to Edmond in 2014 to be closer to family after retirement. They love living here in Edmond. Don was born in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in business. Don worked in commercial insurance his whole career and retired from Mullis Newby Hurst Agency at 75 years old.

Don and Gayle have always been active members of The Disciples of Christ Church where Don served for years as Sunday School teacher, Elder and Chairman of the Board. They currently are members at Southern Hills Christian Church.

Don enjoys time at home with his wife, a good pizza and crime shows! He also has always loved sports…coaching his sons and even playing back in his younger days. Nowadays…just watching!

He remembers great times with family at the beach or weekends at Lake Hiwassee. He is a proud father and father-in-law, a grandfather to 8, and great grandfather to 2! Time with family is his joy!

Don was a driver for EMM from 2014 -2018. His favorite meal from EMM is the tilapia. He appreciates all the cooks and drivers very much saying “Thank you for taking care of me. My wonderful wife and I really appreciate it”
