Chris has been on the Board of Directors at Edmond Mobile Meals since 2024. Chris serves as the Board Vice President and is a tireless kitchen volunteer. While he is still new to the Board of Directors, he has already contributed so many great ideas and is an excellent ambassador for the organization in our community. We are so fortunate to have such a kind, generous and dedicated person serving on our Board! Check out the Q&A with Chris below:

Q: How did you initially get involved with Edmond Mobile Meals?

A: My wife and I attend Acts II United Methodist Church in Edmond. During services over the years, Pastor Mark mentioned how they give to the community and one of the organizations was Edmond Mobile Meals. After I retired from the finance industry, I was looking for a volunteer position to serve my community. Edmond Mobile Meals was my first choice!

Q: How long have you served on the Board of Directors?

A: I have been on the Board since January 2024.

Q: What is it about the EMM mission that is meaningful to you?

A: I have seen personally how Edmond Mobile Meals makes a difference in a person's life. My Mother-in-law has been receiving meals for almost a year, and she really enjoys the food and the volunteers who deliver the meals.

Q: What is your favorite thing about serving on the Board of Directors at EMM?

A: I have enjoyed learning how the organization works and to be involved with the future growth. I love how the staff pays attention to detail with all aspects of the aging population of Edmond seniors. I have also enjoyed getting to know the staff members and I appreciate how caring they are about the seniors they serve.

Q: What are you most excited about for the future of Edmond Mobile Meals?

A: How the organization is learning and preparing for the growth of Edmond's senior population. With our recent expansion, we now have the capability to serve more seniors in Edmond daily without sacrificing quality of food or service.

Q: Why do you believe it is important to serve others in your community?

A: I believe it is important to try and help others that are struggling to help themselves. My grandfather was a City Councilman for the City of OKC & served for over twenty (20) years. At a very young age, my grandfather instilled in me the importance of community service.

Q: Anything else you'd like to share about your experiences at Edmond Mobile Meals?

A: I enjoy volunteering in the kitchen and really appreciate Chef Toni's dedication in preparing the meals.
